Meet the Band: Clive |




Clive is the rhythm engine and driving force of "Live it up". He commenced his career as a percussionist at a very early age. During the 1960's he performed in support bands on package tours and shows, accompanying and supporting many successful acts of the day that include, P. J. Proby, The Hollies, Rolling Stones, Adam Faith, The Walker Brothers, The Merseybeats, Gerry and the Pacemakers, The Peddlers, Baron Knights, The Marmalade, The Move, Bryan Hyland, Wayne Fontana, Dusty Springfield, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Joe Brown, The Kinks, Herman's Hermits, Freddie and the Dreamers, The Animals, The Zombies, Long John Baldry, Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas, The Searchers, Brenda Lee, The Pretty Things, Jumpin' Jack Dupree, The Undertakers, The Fortunes, Screaming Lord Sutch, Marty Wilde, Vince Eager, Johnny Carroll, Lulu, Cliff Bennett, Love Affair, The Tremeloes, Brian Poole, Russ Abbott, The Grumbleweeds, The Drifters, the Rebel Rousers, The Mojos, Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, and many more. The music scene continued to change during the 1960's, and the cabaret clubs developed, the demand for Clive's amazing percussion ability increased and he featured in summer season productions, pantomimes and theatre work followed by a long succession of national summer seasons where he met Paul, our MD, arranger and keyboard player. Clive was offered a position with 1960's recording artists, "The Cufflinks", who are best remembered for their 1969 hit record "Tracy". After many years international touring with the Cufflinks, Clive left the music business, and started a catering business. Just under a year ago he was persuaded to come out of retirement, and is now a valued member of "Live It Up". |
